Angiography, also known as Arteriography, is an imaging technique for visualizing the inside, or lumen, of blood vessels and organs of the body. The process specifically is directed towards issues related with arteries, veins, and heart chambers. The procedure involves the placement of a catheter in an artery in the groin or arm which is then threaded through the blood vessels to the heart. The specialist uses the angiogram (image technique) to identify and deal with the blocked and/or narrowed blood vessels in the heart. The angiography deliver a high success rate of about 70-86%. However, the process comes with certain post-surgery risks such as kidney damage, stroke, internal bleeding, Infection, etc. in extreme case scenarios.
