High Flex Knee Replacement improves the knees range of motion compared to traditional knee replacements by 15°-25° and also facilitates deeper bending for squatting, kneeling, and sitting cross-legged.
However, to benefit from this replacement, a few criteria have to be met. The patient should not have advanced osteoarthritis, revision knees and fused knees are not suitable, thigh calf index should be above 90 degrees, and the patient should be willing to participate in aggressive post-operative therapy.
There are no specific complications associated with the high flexion design except for the excess bone cut compared to conventional procedures. The long-term survivorship of this prosthesis is still in question, but it has good early- to mid-term survivorship.
The surgical procedure can take 1 to 3 hours. As per estimates, knee replacement surgeries usually range between USD 2,256 to USD 4,645 depending on the kind of implant. On average, this can go up to anywhere between USD 53,091 – USD 79,636.
