Laser hair removal is a procedure that uses an intense beam of light (laser) for removing unwanted facial or body hair. During the procedure, the specialist presses a hand-held laser instrument to skin along with a cooling gel to protect skin from heat and lessen the risk of side effects. The beam passes through the skin to the hair follicles. The heat from the beam damages hair follicles which hinders hair growth. However, the treatment doesn’t deliver permanent results. Experienced dermatologists or cosmetic surgeons performs the procedure. The success rate for the treatment varies according to the hair colour and type of skin.
